Mrs Thomas (Year 5 Teacher, Humanities Coordinator)

Our budding Year 6 geographers have entered the coveted National Young Geographer of the Year Competition, which is organised by the Royal Geographical Society.

This year’s competition has provided the girls with the opportunity to explore the Geography of the Arctic and investigate what makes this polar environment so unique. The entries had to include accurate geographical terminology, clearly labelled diagrams, charts, maps or images as well as accurate use of symbols, scales and keys.

We were blown away by the entries, which showed originality and creativity. Many congratulations to the following finalists: Polly Martin, Alice Lawson, Hannah Kilpatrick, Grace Briers and Kate Woodward. Their entries have been sent off to London for the next stage of judging.
