Mrs Lovett (Head of Food and Nutrition)

As part of their GCSE course about understanding sustainable seafood, the Year 10 Food Preparation and Nutrition students visited GCH Fishmongers in Bedford on Monday.

The purpose of the visit was to find out how fisheries play an increasingly important role in our food supply, our health, and the environment.

The girls were taught about different types of fish, how to fillet a fish, buying fresh fish, preparation, storing, cooking, how fish is caught, sustainable fishing and production. On Wednesday, the girls used their skills learnt at the fishmonger and filleted their own fish, producing delicious Seabass en Papillote.
