Mrs Inkson (Year 5 Teacher)
Year 5 marked the end of their term’s work on their World War Two Unit of Enquiry, We’ll Meet Again, with their year group production of The Diary of Edie Benson.
Emotions were high as we saw how the war directly affected the lives of families, particularly children, through scenes set in air raid shelters and on trains whilst children were being evacuated. Every girl in the class was involved in this collaboration between the Drama & Dance Department and the Music Department.
In the afternoon, the girls proudly invited their grandparents for afternoon tea, in the style of a street party, before presenting their moving and vibrant production. It included a rousing sing-a-long of We’ll Meet Again with the grandparents at the end! Later in the evening, the girls were able to celebrate once more, with an evening showing to parents.
