On Tuesday, pupils in Year 6 used their mathematical problem solving and investigative skills. During the lesson, they measured outside spaces and made decisions on how to translate these into ‘plans’ using a scale such as 1cm: 5 m etc – linked to work on ratios.
The girls had to plan ahead, communicate and collaborate in groups and undertake careful measuring and checking skills before planning out the areas. They will use this to develop skills to design an outside space of their choice with appropriate scales etc.
