Alice Cooke (Lower Sixth)

Last Thursday, a group of A Level English Language and History students visited London to see the critically acclaimed SIX the Musical.

We arrived in Covent Garden with plenty of time to enjoy a pizza and pasta supper, before taking our seats in the Arts Theatre just off Leicester Square. The musical is a modern retelling of the lives of the six wives of Henry VIII presented as a pop concert, as the wives take turns singing and telling their story to see who had the worst time with Henry and who will become the group's lead singer.

These Tudor Queens become true Pop Princesses, subverting their suffering and heartbreak into 21st century girl power! From start to finish, the show felt like a real unity of girls and women coming together and as the saying goes…’These Queens may have green sleeves but their lipstick is rebellious red!’ I strongly recommend SIX the Musical.
