To support our Unit of inquiry all about choice of Role Models, Year 5 investigated various Blue Plaques on a walking route all around Bedford. During our walk, the girls from 5T experienced a chance meeting with the mother of Etienne Stott (Olympic gold medal winning canoeist) who happened to be posting a letter into her son’s gold painted post box!

This chance meeting has led to the opportunity of him visiting our school in the next few weeks to talk about his sporting successes and who his role models and inspirations were growing up as well as who his role models are.

In addition to this, next week we are excited to welcome Derek ‘Budge’ Rogers, Grandad of Felicity Rogers in Year 5, and former England rugby player into our school to share his experiences and motivation as a child growing up in Bedford and attending Bedford School.
