Mrs Whomsley (Head of Year 5)

On Thursday, the Year 5 girls were challenged with a range of tasks designed to build their skills as budding explorers. After creating delicious banana protein balls for energy, they then had to test their compass and map skills. Each group was tasked to make their own compass then design a treasure map for their friends to solve.

Their final challenge was to create shelters using only tarpaulin and lengths of rope within the wooded area of the Junior School playground.

The girls and teachers thoroughly enjoyed the day and the teachers were particularly impressed with the girls’ problems-solving skills, teamwork and communication. A fantastic day of outdoor learning!
