Mrs Howlett (Deputy Head of PE)

On Thursday 21st November, the U11 A hockey team competed against the top 24 IAPS schools from across England and Scotland in the IAPS National Hockey Finals, at Haileybury School, Hertfordshire.

After finishing in the top three at the recent Regional Finals, the girls were seeking to challenge themselves against strong competition. The girls played five matches in the group stage, winning two, drawing two and losing one match. This placed them third in third in the group, only missing second place on goal difference!

The third place resulted in a quarter-final match against Farleigh School in the Plate Competition. The girls showed great determination and versatility throughout the match, but unable to score in the attacking positions. The match resulted in a narrow 1-0 victory to Farleigh School.

Final place 13th nationally is a great achievement from over 600+ schools that will have entered the first round. The girls had a very enjoyable experience, and came away having had a great day.
