BGS once again produced fantastic sporting results in the pool at the annual GSA Swimming Gala on Thursday 5th December 2019, winning the overall title.
The gala was hosted at Stamford School and once again organised by BGS. This year there were entries from 5 schools: Kings High Warwick, Stamford School, Derby High School and St Mary’s School, Cambridge. Due to the depth of swimming talent across the whole school, BGS were able to enter two teams for each of the age groups.
The U11 teams claimed seven 2nd places across the individual and relay events across both the A & B teams. The A team finished third overall and the B team finished second. In the U13 event, the A team won two, finishing 3rd overall and the B team also came 3rd.
In the U15 event, the A’s finished joint 1st with St Marys School Cambridge and the B’s finished in first place as well. The U18 team had a huge number of top finishes and finished in second place. It was a fantastic gala with all schools fielding some very competitive swimmers.
