Mrs Martin (Head of Year 3)
Last week, Year 3 were immersed in communication with Chris Holland, a storyteller, nature connection facilitator and didgeridoo player, to start their investigation into how people express and communicate ideas and experiences in different forms.
The girls spent two days thinking about the different forms in which people communicate and made links with their previous Units of Inquiry in relation to why it is important to communicate.
They were exposed to stories from other cultures, which had been passed on through time and investigated how different cultures express themselves through music. The girls used the natural sounds from outdoors to communicate their own names and understanding of Mathematics. It was a brilliant way to start our Unit and it has fostered the girls inquiry in many different areas.
