Mrs Whomsley (Head of Year 5 and Junior School Eco Coordinator)

Members of Year 5 have shown themselves to be particularly Eco aware this term by presenting at Year group assemblies and organising litter picks during break times. The girls, from different classes, have been educating their friends about a range of issues from local wildlife to reducing plastic waste.

It is fantastic to see the girls independently taking action around issues they feel so passionately about. Each of the presentations were organised and created independently in their time and presented confidently. The girls have also organised a rota for litter picking in their garden zones at break time.

The focus on environmental issues comes at an apt time as the Junior School are participating in Switch off Fortnight, which reminds the girls about the importance of saving energy by switching off lights and appliances when they are not in use.
