Mrs Martin (Head of Year 3)
During their Inquiry lessons Year 3 have been learning about how and why people are remembered. Firstly, studying significant events that have impacted world events and then looking at local and global examples of historical figures and groups. The students were introduced to intellectual playfulness when examining historical figures such as Hitler, showing a deep understanding that learning from history ensures that the same mistakes do not happen again.
They then produced individual independent projects in a variety of media, such as iMovie, Book Creator or written form about a person who inspired them, either historical or current.
On Wednesday the girls, who had made and created their costumes at home, came to school dressed as their person. They presented and justified their significance to their class friends and explained why and how they should be remembered in the future. It was an excellent way to assess their conceptual understanding of their Unit of Inquiry The Past has an Impact on the Future.’
The fabulous outfits here.
