Zaina-Hibbah Malik (Year 6) sent an inspirational review about Miss Forster’s (Year 6 Teacher) Legend in their Lifetime article about Pakistani activist, Malala Yousafzai. We hope you enjoy reading it.

“I had just finished my breakfast and started reading The Muse and flicked through it and came across an article about Malala Yousafzai, who was shot for standing up for female education.

“I read through it from start to finish and found that it was very interesting. I remember Mrs Inkson (Head of Year 6) telling us about Malala and how amazing she was. My parents were born here and because of this, I feel I don’t have as much as a connection to Pakistan as I would like to.

“After reading this article, it has shown me that there is more to Pakistan than meets the eye. I am shocked to think a girl only four years older than me was shot on her way home from school. She sacrificed almost her own life and her family’s all for the sake of female rights.

“Malala left her whole life in Pakistan and had to flee to an unknown country and had to make a new life for herself. Not only did she survive the gun shot to her head, she completed her degree at the University of Oxford and had achieved the Noble Peace Prize, which is recognised by the world.

“Malala Yousafzai has not only stood up for female education but has probably changed the whole world’s perspective on allowing girls all around the world to go to school. This is so inspiring to every girl at Bedford Girls’ School, who wants to have a good education and become successful. I personally think that we should not take education for granted as many girls around the world are restricted from it.

“I enjoyed the article by Miss Forster and she was so lucky to have met Malala. I hope you enjoyed my review of the article.”
