Mrs Schofield (Head of Year 4)
Year 4 arrived on Tuesday in Games kit anticipating an exciting and active day, and they were not disappointed! Each class entered the Senior School Assembly Hall to be greeted by the energetic Mr Adams from A-Life (Active Life) who introduced them to over 20 different activities focused on physical and mental health.
This is the girls' first introduction to our Unit of Inquiry focusing on how the choices we make affects our health and well-being. It was wonderful to see them fully engaged and using their social and communication skills to complete the tasks. By the afternoon, many of the girls began to ask why they needed their games kit on? This was swiftly answered as we returned to the hall to begin a fun, frantic and giggly circuits session, working-out to music and enjoying being together. This active provocation will lead into further inquiries into what being healthy means, and how our choices about how we live our lives are influenced by many different sources. A fabulous start!
