Young entrepreneur, Elodie Henrickson’s (Year 3) free-range egg enterprise has been going from strength-to-strength in her local community.
From the age of 5, Elodie along with her siblings started selling eggs from their free range chickens at their gate. However the growth of the business has meant that they now source their eggs from a family friend's free-range farm in Bedford.
During the summer, Elodie and her siblings decided to add an honesty box and an egg round delivery service in their village. In addition to themselves, they now have four other children earning pocket money with their own egg delivery rounds. Since the summer, all of the profits made from the eggs have been donated to Olney Town Council to go towards a children’s project in the town.
Elodie said: “I love our eggs, especially the eggs from Fluffles...my favourite chicken.”
Elodie’s form tutor, Mrs Martin said: “We champion these enterprises as a form of action from the girls in the Junior School. I was incredibly impressed with how Elodie has worked with her siblings to grow this little business. What was even more impressive, was that they have donated all of their money to a local cause!”
