Mrs Thomas (Year 3 Teacher)
On Friday 24th June, Year 3 students took part in a Drama based workshop Our World, our Future. During their session they were given the role of being ‘PLANET PROTECTORS’.
The girls were presented with different challenges faced by our environment and investigated climate change through a multitude of perspectives and settings from around the world. This helped to deepen their understanding of how humans impact the planet and enabled them to feel empowered, to take ownership of their part in our planet. They considered the ways in which they could take action, to make a positive change and are going on to think about ways in which they can raise awareness about the issues they feel passionate about!
Anna Konig (3T) said: "I liked doing all the actions, making shapes and acting out all the endangered animals, especially the Polar bears. I have also been inspired to write a letter to Greta Thunberg which I am going to send to her."
