My favourite time of year at BGS is the start of the new academic year. The school is back to its usual busy, buzzy self and students, staff and families are settling in and finding their feet.
Our New Friends Friday event at the end of last week felt like the perfect way to show all our new Junior School families how friendly and welcoming the whole BGS community is. It was a gentle event to start the year off, where grownups and children could stay on after pick-up on Friday and get to know their new friends a little better over a drink and a piece of cake in the beautiful Junior School grounds. And most importantly, there was a bouncy castle.
I was setting two-minute timers and shouting “right, everyone off, that’s your two minutes!” in my sleep on Friday night… I hope all who attended enjoyed it as much as my family and I did. Thanks so much to our volunteers and staff who helped with the event, we truly could not do it without you.
Don’t forget our AGM on Tuesday 3rd October at 7pm in the LRC of the Senior School. And start looking out for information about the Christmas Fayre and Nearly New Uniform sale on Saturday 2nd December! The stallholder room at the BGS fayre is always a hugely successful area, with vendors selling items including jewellery, cakes, alcohol, clothing, art, food and much more.
So, if you, or someone you know runs a small business, making or selling products which would be suitable to sell, why not grab a spot? To find out more, email [email protected]
