By Mrs Martin (Head of Year 3)
At Bedford Girls' Junior School, our calendar is annually set with visits from our feeder schools to Year 3 and this Thursday it was a delightful visit from a group of Pilgrim girls and their teachers.
It was a morning filled with excitement, learning, and celebrating our identities. The visit was an opportunity to explore the diversity within our communities and how it shapes our individual identities. From spirited dances to soulful singing and creative fingerprint art, the girls immersed themselves in a world of self-expression.
One of the highlights of the morning was the way our Year 3 girls took the lead. Their remarkable independence and sense of responsibility shone brightly, impressing not only their old teachers but also their friends. It was a heart-warming display of maturity and growth, a testament to the nurturing environment we provide at Bedford Girls' Junior School.
The atmosphere throughout the morning was one of warmth, as our students welcomed their Pilgrim counterparts with open arms, showcasing the values of inclusivity and respect that we hold dear. Their behaviour was a credit to our school community and a reflection of the values we instil in our students.
We firmly believe in fostering an environment where every child's identity is celebrated, and our recent visit from the Pilgrim girls reinforced this. It was a morning filled with appreciation, and the joy of discovering the diverse tapestry that makes up our school community.
We look forward to more enriching experiences next week, when we welcome our friends from Polam.
