We are incredibly proud of the inspirational pupil, Aizah Malik, who recently became a Young Ambassador for the Luton Foodbank.
Aizah is at the beginning of her journey to raise awareness and become involved in supporting the Luton Foodbank. After attending and being inspired at a 10-year anniversary event of the Luton Foodbank afternoon tea fundraising event, Aizah was selected to become a Young Ambassador. Her role involves participating in fundraising events, going to local supermarkets and collecting donations for the Foodbank at the supermarket Foodbank stall.
Her most recent fundraising event was a 5k race for Love Luton Race Fest in support of Luton Foodbank this past Sunday. Aizah, along with her older sister, Zaina-Hibbah (Year 9), successfully completed the race. What's even more impressive is that she completed it with limited preparation and training!
Aizah reflected on the race: “There were thousands of people in the town, and I ran ahead, overtaking most of them with my sister. It was exciting. I really enjoyed crossing the finish line because I left my parents behind, and all the children joined in behind me as we roared through the finish line. It was amazing to also receive a medal.”
Aizah’s Form Teacher, Mrs Crawford-Smith added: “I am so proud of Aizah. It’s wonderful to see the efforts she is going to support such a vital charity and in raising awareness. She is a true inspiration!”
