By Miss Coote (Year 6 Teacher)

As we bid farewell to another successful term, we are delighted to share the highlights of the Year 3 and Year 4 Book Club. The final session on Wednesday was a festive affair as the girls enthusiastically delved into the classic tale of 'The Gingerbread Man,' guided by our fantastic Sixth Form helpers, Amy (Junior School Captain) and Faith (Junior School Prefect).

Their reflection on the session encapsulates the joy of the occasion: "It was great fun to end this term’s book club with a Christmas special, reading The Gingerbread Man and decorating gingerbread men. Not sure whether we had more fun decorating or eating them but we are sure that they all looked fabulous, even if an arm or leg was missing before a picture could be taken!"

This term's book club was a resounding success, featuring a range of engaging sessions. From discovering the courage within by reading The Lion Inside to embarking on virtual adventures through the streets of New York using VR, our pupils have experienced the magic of literature in diverse ways.

As we approach the Christmas holidays, we hope that the enthusiasm generated by these sessions will accompany our young readers, fostering a renewed passion for books and storytelling.
