We enjoyed another successful and wonderful Reading Breakfast last week on Wednesday 10th January, where we welcomed parents to join us in our continuation to foster a love for reading and creativity. The involvement of parents in our Reading Breakfast events is incredibly important. Their active participation not only enhances the experience for the girls but also strengthens the connection between the school and families.
Our theme centred around the seasons and their intricate dance with the sun, offering a unique perspective on the world we inhabit. The highlight of the morning was our featured story, Winter Sleep: A Hibernation Story by Sean Taylor and Alex Morss. This enchanting tale sparked insightful discussions among the girls and parents alike, opening doors to explore the mysteries of hibernation and the needs of animals during the winter months.
After exploring a story, our Year 3’s creatively crafted habitats for their selected animals. This engaging process not only showcased their artistic abilities but also prompted thoughtful consideration of the animals' hibernation requirements. It was wonderful to see the relationships between parents and children, as they collaborated on ideas and shared in the joy of learning.
The vibrant designs brought the Junior School Library to life, displaying the varied perspectives each girl possesses. We appreciate the collaboration with our parents who joined us for this special event. Your active involvement not only enhances the experience but also strengthens the bond between home and school, fostering a supportive environment for our girls to thrive. These collaborative moments play a vital role in building meaningful connections within our school community, extending beyond the classroom.
