In this week’s English lessons, Year 9 began their project to create a marketing campaign for a new 2024 film adaptation of the young adult novel The Hunger Games.

They discussed whether using AI was genuinely creative and had a role in modern creative industries. The students thought about key symbols and themes from the novel, such as the significance of Katniss’s bow and arrow and her relationship with Buttercup the cat, and from this provided prompts, which I inputted into the AI tool to generate example images for movie posters.

The students sharpened their critical thinking skills and gained valuable insights into creativity's evolution in the digital era. As they tackled the complexities of modern marketing, they emerged as thoughtful innovators, ready to make ethical and informed decisions in their creative pursuits.
