On Tuesday morning, the Junior School became chocolate heaven for the girls in Year 4, as they embarked on their first Unit of Enquiry, It’s not all about the Chocolate. A visit from the Ministry of Chocolate started our day off with some wonderful smells and sights, as we looked at chocolate eating habits around the world, and found out where chocolate drinking and eating originated.
The girls held and smelt real Cacao beans, nibs and cocoa butter before making their own chocolatey creations. They found out how tattoos can be used to decorate chocolate and they used all their senses to assess the quality of some delicious samples. What a delicious day of learning drawing on historical, geographical and creative aspects of the theme and a variety of practical skills.
