Miss Huckle (Head of Netball)

Last week, our netballers once again produced fantastic performances in the U11 Regional IAPS qualifiers and county tournament.

On Thursday 28th February, the netballers competed in many intense games. They won all of their pool games taking them through to the quarter finals, where they played Edge Grove School. It was a very close match finishing 3-3 after Emmanuelle Devile scored the final goal with seconds to go. After playing five minutes of extra time BGS won 10-3! The semi-final was against The Perse School, the eventual winners, BGS lost 4-6. The girls competed for 3rd/4th place and beat Framlingham College 5-1 meaning the girls came away with Bronze medals.

The same U11 team then played in the U11 county tournament the following day. They were undefeated in all eight-pool matches, and placed top of the pool. The semi-final was against Robert Bloomfield Academy, which they won 8-3. An extremely feisty and well-contested final saw BGS win 3-2 against Arnold Academy, crowning the netballers the U11 county champions.
