On Tuesday 17th September, we were delighted to welcome 31 girls and their teachers from Milton Keynes and Broughton Manor Preparatory Schools, for a morning of activities to give them a taste of life at BGS.
After an initial welcome over a hot chocolate, the girls joined Mr Potter (Director of Digital Strategy) and Ms Davies (Digital Design Creator) in the iCreate space to see at first-hand how BGS use iPad technology in the classroom. The children enjoyed a competitive round of mini golf using Sphero robotic balls, controlling the balls by an app on the iPads. The task involved the girls working in small teams and focusing on the specifics of timing and speed.
The second half of the morning comprised an energetic session of netball and lacrosse, inspirationally led by our Super League netball player, Miss Huckle, and England Lacrosse Goalkeeper, Mrs Greenwood. Our visitors were in awe!
At morning break, the visitors were joined by some of their former students and a group of Year 5 girls from our Junior School.
