On Friday 31st January, Year 6 visited the immersive and interactive science museum in Birmingham, ThinkTank. Housed inside the impressive Millennium Point building, the girls investigated topics including inventions from the past, gadgets and gizmos, medicine matters and wildlife.
In the Futures section there was a chance to explore and research current developments, while pupils could also programme and operate a robot and a robotic arm to play the drums.
Mrs Copp, Deputy Head of Junior School, said: “This term, explores the impact of technology on people’s lives and how it has evolved over time. The girls were able to explore inventions from steam power to space-age technology through a wide range of intriguing exhibits.
“They were fascinated by aspects of micro-technology employed in 21st century medicine, as well as eco-solutions to handling waste materials usually sent to landfill. We aim to continue to explore, with the girls, the questions that arise from the trip and to find out more about the impact of past invention on tomorrow’s world.”
