Talented footballer Darcey Griffiths (Year 5) was invited to play six matches for Arsenal W.F.C. last week, the team played across two tournaments against other elite teams in Essex and Oxfordshire. Arsenal won five and drew one with Darcey scoring a brace v Peterborough Town FC.
Throughout the competition, Darcey showed determination and leadership skills across all the matches and now looks forward to representing Arsenal v LA Galaxy in April.
Darcey was talent spotted by Arsenal W.F.C. at the end of last year, following a successful trial. Arsenal are the most successful English Women’s football team and are the current Women’s Super League champions.
Darcey said: “It was an absolute privilege to play for Arsenal W.F.C. I felt so proud to wear my shirt when I ran alongside my team. Scoring sevent goals across the week was a dream come true and I had the biggest smile on my face.”
