Miss Coote (Year 3 Teacher)

Continuing with our topic of letter writing, Year 3 had the chance to read The Day the Crayons Quit, a children's fiction book featuring Duncan, a young boy who really wants to colour! Unfortunately, when opening his box of crayons, all that was left were letters of complaint.

Inspired by this, the girls were given the opportunity to write a new story about everyday objects that decide to quit. From rulers to rubbers, the letters that they planned, wrote and illustrated were fabulous examples of the skills needed to write the perfect letter.

Lia said: “I liked writing my own letter because you got to pick your own stationary and bring it to life.”

Izzy said: “I liked it because we got the write our own letter of complaint pretending to be an object. It was also fun because we got to add our own illustrations using the sketches school app.”

Read some of the wonderful examples HERE.
