Mrs Whomsley (Junior School Eco Coordinator)
On Friday 22nd April, pupils from across the Junior School marked Earth Day by taking part in the Girls' Schools Association (GSA) writing competition titled Dear Earth.
The competition invites the girls to share their thoughts on the world and their visions and hopes for the future as either a piece of written poetry or prose. They will be judged on their creativity, imagination and originality.
As teachers, we have been overwhelmed with the quality of the girls’ writing. Their passion for the earth and environmental issues is clear from their entries and their pieces are both thoughtful and thought-provoking. Whether or not they proceed to the finals of the competition, we are immensely proud of the girls’ writing techniques and their creative response to this challenge.
We wish all the entrants good luck!
