The LRC and BGS are delighted to welcome our newly appointed Senior Library Assistant, Miss Gracie Kidd, to the Junior School Library.

The post required a very special candidate and we feel very lucky to have appointed Miss Kidd to our team.

Miss Kidd has spent many years as an early year’s practitioner in a variety of roles including deputy and interim manager. In December 2021, she published her own fiction book, and is currently working on a publication centred around fostering, and the hidden wonders behind it.

Miss Kidd's love for both teaching and literature will allow her to thrive in her role, and the girls will benefit from her enthusiasm, warmth, patience and creativity.

Miss Kidd said: “I was first attracted to BGS due to its warm, positive and welcoming community, it was something I was eager to be a part of. I believe it is important to be confident, imaginative and willing to learn from mistakes and BGS promotes this with all students every day.

“I am passionate about introducing children to new experiences, creativity and adventure, while also encouraging enthusiasm towards research, learning and taking in new information and applying it every day.”

Miss Kidd will continue to support students in their love of reading and literature. In addition, she will be promoting competitions, clubs, themes and celebrations in the library for all students to enjoy and take part in, as well as book fairs and author visits that will be happening within this school year.
