Miss Huckle (Head of Netball)
A thrilling spring term of netball finished with a bang with our Year 6 A team netball squad claiming a coveted bronze medal at the National IAPS Netball Competition (Friday 17th March) in Rugby.
We had a slower start to the start, but quickly found our rhythm and put in some excellent performances whilst scoring quite a few goals. Due to goal difference, the girls qualified for the Bowl competition and they won their quarter final 7-2 after drawing at half time. Unfortunately the girls lost their semi final but it was all to play for in the 3rd/4th play off where they beat Yateley Manor School to win Bronze in the bowl competition and placing in the top 20 nationally.
It was an incredible day and a great experience for these young netballers to play in such a high performance environment against some of the top schools in the country! I am so proud of the hard work that not only these girls, but all the girls in Year 6, have put in during these last two terms to push this A squad to be the best they can be.
I am really looking forward to having this year in the senior school and seeing what they can do in a 7-a-side format.
