By Mrs Reilly (Year 5 Teacher)

On Thursday 9th May, Year 5 got their Marauders Maps ready and stepped into the shoes of Harry Potter at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London.

They discovered the Great Hall, Hogwarts Castle, and Dumbledore's office, as well as enjoying a spot of quidditch along the way! The tour encapsulated the magic of filmmaking and the magic behind the making of the Harry Potter films, exploring authentic sets, props, and costumes from the films; linking to our summer term Unit of Inquiry, How We Express Ourselves.

Nadia (5W) said: “I loved looking behind the scenes. I didn’t know that the broomstick scenes were made against a ‘green screen’. It was good fun having a go at flying on the broomsticks, too!”

Elizabeth (5R) added: “It was so much fun! My favourite part was going into the Forbidden Forest. There was smoke and giant spiders, but the 3D dragon was the scariest.”

Aisha (5B) commented: “The trip to the Harry Potter world was magical. I loved seeing behind the scenes of Harry Potter and exploring the sets. It was awesome to see all the actors' props, costumes, and makeup. The gift shop was full of Harry Potter food like Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans, butterbeer, and chocolate frogs.”

Dua (5B) said: “The Harry Potter trip was a wonderful experience. It almost felt as if you were a wizard or within a world of magic and mischief. All the sets were so interesting to see too!”
