By Mrs Martin (Head of Year 3)
Over the past two weeks, our Year 3 girls have been diving into the world of homophones, those tricky words that sound the same but have different spellings. In an innovative twist to the traditional spelling lesson, the girls were tasked with creating raps to help everyone remember the differences between "their," "there," and "they're," as well as "to" “two” and "too." Working in pairs, they came up with fantastic and creative ideas, demonstrating excellent teamwork and creativity.
Meanwhile, in Mrs Thomas' class, the girls focused on mnemonics to tackle difficult spelling words. This week, both classes came together to share their knowledge. They were real risk-takers as they stood up to perform their raps and mnemonics, showcasing their learning and entertaining their peers and teachers alike.
This collaboration highlighted the diverse ways we can approach learning, making it an enjoyable and memorable experience for everyone involved. Well done to all our Year 3 students for their fantastic efforts!
