By Mrs Schofield (Head of Year 4)

As we approach the end of the first half term, it’s a good time to reflect on the learning experiences that have shaped our Year 4 girls’ journey. This term, we’ve focused on developing a balanced lifestyle and well-being, and the girls have taken part in a variety of activities to enhance their understanding. What made this term especially memorable was the involvement of parents, who generously shared their expertise and enriched our learning experience.

We were fortunate to have Dr Grewal visit to talk about heart health, stressing the importance of regular physical activity and a balanced diet. The girls were fascinated by her demonstrations and left inspired to include more movement in their daily routines. Dr Lincoln followed with an engaging session on dental hygiene, covering the best ways to care for teeth and gums and explaining how diet impacts oral health. The girls found her session both fun and informative, eager to share what they had learned.

To round off the term, Mrs Fryer spoke to the girls about mental well-being, encouraging them to practise mindfulness, manage stress and talk openly about their feelings. Her session empowered the girls to think of mental health as an essential part of a balanced lifestyle, and to practise small daily habits that contribute to a positive mindset.

These enriching talks have brought our lessons to life, showing the girls that learning goes beyond the classroom. We look forward to more opportunities to work together as the year progresses.
